Added to the Bill in place of Vangel who unfortunately will not be able to be at the event is Talented Toronto based musician: simA

Biography
simA

Artist | Musician

simA is her own creative engine. Her music fuses ethereal vocals, electric guitar, synths and original beats to produce an experimental, alternative sound that is resonant and sexy. Born in Turkey, Sima Kuday was raised in both Turkey and Toronto. Spending much of her formative years between these two drastically different landscapes has left an imprint on her music. Singing mostly in English injected with Turkish, her sound evolved alongside her eclectic influences. It’s like Bjork and Holly McNarland conceived a child at Ani Difranco’s house, kinda music. Her look and sound is unconventional and disarming.

Currently simA has been impressing crowds with her live performances, looping her vocals over live electronics and electric guitar, in the downtown core of Toronto. Venues include Drool Art Lounge, The Hard Luck Bar, Just Thai and The Opera House.

Self-taught, simA began busking on the streets of Peterborough and Toronto with her acoustic guitar. Moving back to Istanbul, simA became apart of the select 15 artists chosen to perform for Roxy Music Days, which landed her a radio interview with TRT, National Turkish radio station and a newspaper article in the Milliyet, highlighting her as the only female solo act of the competition. From that experience she was invited to play a prominent tourist bar in Bodrum, Turkey and recorded a demo with Universal Music Turkey. She also provided back-up vocals and sang a duet with Teoman in a live concert performance.

simA is continually experimenting with sounds and vocals in her home studio, building upon her unique musical vision. Her current endeavours include taking vocal lessons with Opera singer, Maria Kastellitz, collaborating with local, up-and-coming talents and pursuing all aspects of this creative process including producing, mixing, mastering and promoting her music. It is clear that simA is now poised and ready to leave her imprint on our landscapes.

Instrumentation
simA: Vocals, beats, guitars, synth and pedals including Loopstation.
